website design

after looking at different websites i have developed my design for my website
i will have in total:



main page:

this is the design for the main page of my website. 

i had chosen the colour scheme black and purple. because it is the main colour scheme in the story that i am creating this website for. the top bar is going to be full of links to the other pages.  and it will have a drop down menu for the characters. when you click on theses links they will bring you to the other pages. with the character link you can hover over and go to a certain characters page but you can also click on the link and it will bring you to a new page with a selection menu.

with the text of this page i have decided to have the text in a scroll box in the centre of the page. so that this is the only thing that moves as you scroll the screen. the text box on the main page will be used to inform about updates to the website and story. 

the characters on each side are the main characters of the story i am making the website for. i chose to put characters on each page as it will make it more visually attractive and it will also relate the web page to the story 

this is the finished version of the main page. i had made the characters smaller as they made the page look to busy and cluttered. i also lightened the page because it was to dark and the purple on the characters almost merged with the background.  

about us page:

the layout of this page is very similar to the layout of the main page. each page will be similar to each other as i want it to be a recurring theme were 2 of the characters of this story are on either side of the text box.

I decided to put in buttons for each character's information page so that when you click on them it will take you to their page, also having them as buttons with the characters face on them make it clear and easy to tell what the button is for . the colour scheme is the same to the rest of the website because it would then not fit in with the rest of  the website.

this page is pretty simple but i didn't want to add more onto the page as it would clutter the page and take away for the most important parts of the page

for the design of the gallery page i have decided to split this page into two. the pictures will be in the left hand box and i want the box to have a scroll on it so that there can be allot of  pictures with no limit. and i am going to put a section for videos on the right hand side.  

for my personal project i have decide to create a website for an original story that i am creating with Jodie
Pearce.

i would like to use some of the things i had used in my last website for example i like having the text box in the middle of the screen and having the background staying in the same place so the only thing that moves is the text. but this time i want to add a bar at the top of the page so that you can get on to different pages and i am also planing on making better and more graphics for this website

first i have to look at other websites. one of the websites i had looked at was a website similar to what im creating this website for.  http://parashi.info/ this website was created to inform people about their original story. i like the layout of some of the pages for instance the character page has a nice and clean layout. but its a bit plain, fortunetly they managed to pull of this look. i like the idea of having buttons for each character. so this makes the website organised but also still attractive 

i also looked at another website that is used to tell people about a story.

i like the design of the drop down menus on this website it helps make things organised and attractive. unfortunetly the rest of the layout of the main page is a bit messy and cluttered. 

after doing research on different- sites that are being used for the same purpose i have developed a couple of ideas on the layout and composition of my website design.
